Children with an absent parent due to criminal justice involvement can experience improved outcomes when intentional structures are put in place.
In order to (1) systematically integrate a series of evidence-based prevention interventions into communities and re-entry systems across Ohio, (2) mobilize various services to connect youth and their families with resources, and (3) promote healthy family integration and relationships, the CIP Executive Committee created a Theory of Change to support the initiative.
The Theory of Change identifies the strategies that are used to develop the conditions to promote family functioning and stability which will lead to improved outcomes for children who have experienced one or more parents absent from home due to criminal justice involvement.
